Emma is a costume designer, costume maker and wardrobe supervisor from the UK. She is currently working towards a Master of Fine Arts degree in Costume Design at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Between studying, Emma pursues her career both sides of the Atlantic including working on The Nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall in London, She Loves Me at the University of Connecticut, and Macbeth, As You Like It and The Merry Wives of Windsor at Shakespeare & Company, MA.
In summer 2019 Emma visited South Africa to attend the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown and conduct research for her masters thesis in Johannesburg. The subject of her thesis is the South African musical Sophiatown which will be exhibited at the Augusta Savage Gallery, MA, from May 4th - 7th 2020.
This project continues her efforts to learn more about non-western theatre; an interest which was sparked while spending seven weeks travelling around India researching costumes for performance. This trip included four weeks at Kerala Kalamandalam, the prestigious performing arts university in Kerala, as the foundation for her undergraduate thesis whilst at the University of Cambridge.
